A Mecca for real beer drinkers, a real paradise of locally made beer with distinctive tastes and steeped in history. For many a trip to Berlin is not complete without the odd beer at one of Berlin’s famous drinking establishments.

In addition there are a number of Micro Breweries producing house beers that are generally of good quality, these offer you a great chance to enjoy some local produce along with a pretzel or two.

Of course no trip is complete without tasting the famous (or for some according to taste infamous) Berliner Weisse, a sour beer that should be drunk with a shot of fruity syrup or Schuss. For the brave and adventurous try it ‘mint grun’ – the result a green, sour flavored drink not unlike cough medicine.
